We are a family-run cafe, bar and restaurant, so we love seeing families around our tables, whether that is a late breakfast after a morning out, a quick bite before a train or a long weekend lunch where everyone orders something different. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant in King's Cross that works for all ages, here is what to expect at Fiena on Judd Street.
The simplest reason is our hours. We are open from 8am every day, with breakfast served until 2pm and the full Italian menu from midday, so there is no awkward gap between meals when little ones get hungry at unusual times. There is no dress code at all: Fiena is intentionally relaxed, so come as you are, muddy trainers included.
Guests with children have been kind enough to say so in their reviews. Celia wrote: Delicious food and good portions, great service and very family friendly.
She also admitted: Discovered this place on Sunday and went back again on Thursday it was that good!
(Celia F., Google review). A family visiting from Glasgow wrote: Pizzas were excellent, and the service was relaxed and friendly.
(C. J., Tripadvisor review).
Our breakfast and brunch menu has something for every age. For younger guests (and grown-ups with a sweet tooth), The Fiena Tower stacks a pancake with crispy bacon, scrambled egg, hash brown, maple syrup and seasonal fruit. The Tiramisu French toast layers golden brioche with mascarpone cream and espresso syrup. Parents may want to claim that one. Granola bowls with Greek yoghurt and fruit, scrambled eggs on toast, and the Classic Benedict round things off, and you can add sides such as an extra egg, beans, chips or gluten-free bread.
Tina's family found a neat way to share: 2 brunch dishes as well as French toast split between 2 adults and 2 children was perfect.
(Tina E., Google review).
For drinks there are smoothies such as the Strawberry Split (strawberry, banana and apple juice) and the Blueberry Thrill, fruit juices, daily-squeezed orange juice and hot chocolate. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can get on with the Italian coffee.
Pizza is served from midday. The Margherita, with tomato sauce, fior di latte and basil, is the easy choice for fussier eaters, while more adventurous eaters might try the Capricciosa, or the Diavola with pepperoni and spicy nduja. A gluten-free base is available.
Spaghetti bolognese with slow-cooked beef ragù is a safe bet for most children. Lasagna, spaghetti carbonara and ravioli with ricotta and spinach in sage butter are good choices too. Gluten-free penne is available for every pasta dish, so no one has to miss out.
Order a garlic bread (or garlic bread with cheese), bruschetta or a bowl of chips for the table while everyone decides. If your family likes to share, our group menu for five or more guests is a sharing-style set menu that runs from antipasti to dessert, at £35 per person including a welcome glass of prosecco.
Our dessert menu is served all day, which makes it very useful for bribery. Gelato comes as three scoops in vanilla, wild strawberry or salted caramel, and there are mango, blood orange and lemon sorbets. For the adults there is tiramisu, a warm chocolate brownie with ice cream, profiteroles, or an affogato. There is also a vegan and gluten-free chocolate brownie served with blood orange sorbet.
Our menus mark vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. If anyone in your party has an allergy, intolerance or coeliac disease, please speak to your server before ordering. Detailed information on the 14 major allergens is available on request. Our kitchen handles allergens, so we cannot guarantee any dish is completely allergen-free, but we will always talk you through the options.
From a pancake tower at 9am to pizza and gelato at 6pm, we would love to feed your family. Book a table at Fiena, take a look at our main menu in advance, or just drop in. We will find you a spot.
Breakfast from 8am, the full Italian menu from midday. Walk-ins are always welcome whenever we have space.
