Tiramisu, gelato and affogato: desserts worth staying for

The warm dining room at Fiena in King's Cross, where desserts and gelato are served all day

The dessert menu at Fiena is short, Italian and served all day, which is exactly how we think sweet endings should work in King's Cross. The tiramisu leads: espresso-soaked lady fingers layered with mascarpone cream and dusted with cocoa, made the way it was always meant to be.

Warm, cold and in between

The souffle al cioccolato hides a liquid chocolate centre. The warm brownie comes with ice cream, and there is a vegan, gluten-free brownie with blood orange sorbet so nobody sits out the course. Profiteroles with Chantilly cream close the classics.

Gelato and the affogato move

Gelato comes three scoops at a time, vanilla, wild strawberry, salted caramel, with mango, blood orange and lemon sorbets alongside. The affogato, ice cream drowned in espresso, is our favourite trick: dessert and coffee in one glass, and a very good end to a long lunch.
